Introducing nLog Logger!
NATA, in cooperation with AlpineSoft, announces the availability of nLog! This program has been designed to be an open platform which can be used by any net and has replaced the N1HWQ Net Logger on all NATA nets effective July 1, 2011. NATA no longer uses Net Logger and nets can only be monitored online using nLog.
There is currently NO registration fee required. All users who download and install nLog now will NEVER have to register the software! In short, this is Dean's gift to the awards net community. Please be sure to say thank you!
If you can not see nets listed in the active nets listing your installation needs a simple modification. Hold down CTRL and hit the F1 key. Click "LIVE OPTIONS" tab. Enter 184.168.251.1 for the HomeURL and natamaster for HomeID. Click the OK button then exit and restart the program. This will point your software to the correct server.

We recommend you save the installation file to your desktop. You will find Quick-Start instructions further down the NATA home page! Scroll down...
Computers using Windows Vista or Windows 7 require special installation procedures! Download and read the following PDF Help Guide before attempting to run nLog. Failing to do so WILL result in a non-working installation. Do NOT attempt to install the N1HWQ Net Logger program AFTER installing nLog as doing so will erase all existing contact data in nLog.

Do NOT enter your callsign when prompted and ignore the file backup warning. A quick-start guide is available on the NATA website under the new nLog Logger menu tab at the top of the front page. After the program is open, click FILES then SYSTEM OPTIONS and enter your callsign and personal information.
This powerful, comprehensive net logging and QSL printing/management software was developed by Dean Davis, N7XG, at the request of NATA and is based upon his highly successful N7XG Logger (formerly Century Club Logger). The software is not limited to use by NATA, however! Other net systems have been included in this new software package including GERATOL, TRIPLE H, OMISS, YLISSB, and SATERN. We wish to acknowledge and thank the following amateurs for their participation, assistance with the suggestions and testing of the software:
- Dave Drake, WD9CMD
- Amanda Alden-Carrier, K1DDN
- Jim Duncan, KU0G
- Jeff Carrier, K0JSC
- John Dziadus, KC9LGW

Program Features:
-
NO MORE "REFRESHES"!!! NCS can focus on running the net rather than managing whether users have all the check-ins. You log in and the entire net list appears within 10-15 seconds. You can see NCS typing in REAL TIME! You will NOT see blank lines!
-
Fully compatible with ADIF for exporting logs for LOTW, eQSL, Ham Radio Deluxe or other logging program. Import your logs quickly and easily from Net Logger using the nLog Convert Utility.
-
User-customizeable QSL messages for each net you operate!
-
Custom QSL card design and printing! Create and print your own full color, custom QSL cards from within the program. Autoatic updates to your log of the QSL status of every contact you make. Check in cards quickly with the built-in card check-in utility!
-
Print log sheets, awards applications, or specialized reports based on many different options!
-
Live chat! Dean listened and included live chat within the program. Initially, the chat will not be “net specific,” however future builds of of the program will tie chat “rooms” and other text/logging and QSL/club membership listing to the net you are logged into. Once you log on to a net simply click the “Talking Heads” icon (next to the Stop Sign) the click CONNECT and you're ready to chat with all other net participants with NO transmission delays: See what you've typed instantly and we mean REALLY instantly!!
-
Take over a net! If NCS has to leave, anyone running the software can take over without having to start a new session or re-enter all check-in data, one click of the “AMBULANCE” icon does it!
-
Quick Logging! Log a contact with one key-stroke (F3), no dialog boxes, just enter the signal reports in the Sent and Recd column. You can even pre-enter the report you plan to send.
-
Who's turn is it? Follow the green “ACTIVE” line. No more lost “purple line,” missing new check ins, or asking for refreshes. Instantly see if contacts are good (highlighted GREEN for GO!) or worked (highlighted RED if station worked in that state, net, and frequency).
-
Club membership numbers (OMISS request) are coming in June. Built in F.C.C. callsign database can be updated direct from F.C.C. through nLog Logger. Custom NCS scripts, Good-in-Bureau listings, and other important information are all shared resources which can be centrally updated and downloaded into the program without the issues found with other software updates. All of these may be updated by clicking FILES then DOWNLOAD UPDATES (Warning: FCC update should not be attempted if you have less than 20 minutes before needing to use the program!)

Complete documentation, broken down into easy-to-follow visual examples.
